Today, The Strip SA announced that PRIDE on the STRIP, the official Pride San Antonio AfterParty will be a benefit for the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

The PRIDE on the STRIP block party will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 7pm till 2 am on the North Main Strip, at the corner of North Main Avenue and Evergreen.  The strip businesses will be asking all visitors for a donation to the Equality Florida fund for victims as admission to the block party.  100% of those proceeds will be donated to the fund. As thousands gather to view the annual Pride Parade and party afterwards, they will be able to have a positive impact on the victims and families in Orlando, Florida.

Randy Cunniff, president of The Strip SA, which includes HEAT nightclub, Sparky's Pub, Luther's Cafe and Knockout, stated “We wanted to help the families that have been affected by this tragedy and felt by doing this we would enable the San Antonio community as a whole, to have the biggest financial impact possible.”

Representatives from several local area charities, the Renegade Bears, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Alamo Empire and the Texas Gay Rodeo Association, will be volunteering at the event and manning the donation stations at the entrances to the block party.  Additional support  is being provided by the Patron Spirits Co, BeamSuntory, and Smirnoff vodka.  The Strip SA welcomes any other individuals or organizations that would like to assist with this project.
